Smarter mines. Safer operations.
Stronger performance.
The conference

Technology that
delivers at the mine.

Connect technology with the decisions that shape every shift.

A dashboard can show a delay. A connected mining operation must help people understand its cause, decide what to do and measure whether the intervention worked.

MINECon 2027 brings mine operators, mining contractors, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, procurement leaders and researchers together to explore that connection between information and execution.

From connected fleets and intelligent dispatch to predictive maintenance, automation and cleaner equipment, the focus is practical: improving cost per tonne, strengthening safety and building capability under Indian operating conditions.

What must change at the mine for technology to deliver measurable value?

01 / INDIAN OPERATIONSBuilt around operating realities

Mixed fleets, changing geology, equipment wear and demanding site conditions make implementation and service support central to every technology decision.

02 / WHY NAGPURClose to the mining ecosystem

Home to Western Coalfields Limited’s headquarters, Nagpur provides a relevant setting for operators, contractors and suppliers serving the region.

03 / THE BUSINESS CASEFrom investment to outcomes

Assess reliability, data access, interoperability and lifecycle support alongside purchase price, with clear measures of operational improvement.

The conversations

Five sessions.
One operational focus.

Explore the technologies, supplier capabilities and skills that support a more productive, reliable mining operation.

01

The connected mine

Fleet management · IoT · AI · Drones · Digital twins

Bring dispatch records, survey reports, maintenance logs and fuel information into a more coordinated view of the mine. Examine how connected equipment, geospatial intelligence and analytics can turn operational signals into timely action.

Takeaway: Select digital applications against the indicators that should improve.

  • Cycle times, idle hours, payloads and fleet utilisation.
  • Drone surveys for stockpiles, haul roads and site conditions.
  • AI and digital twins for analysis and scenario testing.
  • Connectivity, data quality, cybersecurity and interoperability.
  • Retrofits and phased deployment for mixed fleets.
02

More productive mining

Advanced equipment · Continuous mining · Automation

Improve the complete operating cycle, from excavation and loading to haulage, conveying and downstream handling. Explore where automation and advanced equipment can remove bottlenecks, with technology choices grounded in geology, mine life and local support.

Takeaway: Evaluate an equipment upgrade against the performance of the wider mine.

  • Equipment capacity, geology and production planning.
  • Continuous mining systems and support infrastructure.
  • Automated drilling, smart dispatch and operator assistance.
  • Remote-controlled equipment and phased automation.
  • Availability, productivity and lifecycle cost.
03

Electrification and lower-emission mining

Equipment · Energy systems · The business case

Explore where electric and alternative-fuel equipment can suit mining duty cycles, and the infrastructure needed to support it. Assess cleaner technologies alongside opportunities to improve the efficiency of existing assets.

Takeaway: Compare cleaner technologies through operational suitability and total cost of ownership.

  • Battery-electric equipment, payloads, gradients and duty cycles.
  • Charging, electrical distribution and maintenance capability.
  • Trolley-assist systems and alternative fuels.
  • Efficient pumps, motors, conveyors and compressed air.
  • Renewable power, energy measurement and emissions.
04

Local capabilities for modern mining

MSME vendor development · Localisation · Procurement

Connect mining buyers’ requirements with the capabilities local suppliers need to develop. Examine opportunities in components, wear parts, fabrication, electrical systems, sensors and refurbishment, supported by consistent quality and field performance.

Takeaway: Understand what mining buyers require and how local suppliers can prepare.

  • Vendor qualification, testing and documentation.
  • Traceability and repeatable manufacturing quality.
  • Structured field trials for local alternatives.
  • Collaboration between OEMs, contractors and MSMEs.
  • Service support, warranties and delivery reliability.
05

People for technology-enabled mines

Training · Reskilling · Safer adoption

Build the skills operators, dispatchers, supervisors and maintenance teams need to use digital tools effectively. Connect training to site practice, operating responsibilities and competency assessment while retaining valuable field experience.

Takeaway: Link workforce development to equipment, procedures and operational responsibilities.

  • Simulator-based equipment and hazard-awareness training.
  • Digital skills for supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Remote operation and automation training.
  • Electrical and battery-system competencies.
  • ITI and polytechnic partnerships; opportunities for women.
Across the technical discussions

Predictive maintenance and lifecycle support

Connect condition monitoring with diagnosis, spares availability, repair capability and planned maintenance. Vibration, temperature, oil-condition and fault information will feature within the fleet, productivity and case-study discussions.
